Stir fried watercress

This recipe is from tutorial Watercress with Jason Chin.

 

Ingredients

For this recipe you will need:

  • 1lb watercress

  • 3 cloves garlic

  • 1tsp fresh ginger

  • ⅛ tsp pepper

  • ⅛ tsp sugar

  • ½ tsp salt

  • ⅛ tsp sesame oil

  • Sesame seeds

Prep

  1. Wash and trim watercress

  2. Mince garlic

  3. Peel and mince ginger

  4. Put pepper, salt and sugar in small bowl

Instructions

  1. Heat wok on medium high; add peanut oil

  2. Add ginger and let cook about 30 seconds; don’t let burn

  3. Add garlic; quickly add watercress and turn heat up to high

  4. Stir 20 seconds to mix ingredients, move to center of wok and cover for 45 seconds

  5. Stir 20 seconds, bringing the watercress up against the dry sides of the wok

  6. Add sesame oil, salt, pepper and sugar

  7. Stir 20 seconds, bringing the watercress up against the dry sides of the wok

  8. Remove, sprinkle with sesame seeds and serve
