Our history
The Vermont Wild Kitchen emerged in 2020 during the beginning of the COVID-19 Pandemic as a virtual cooking show streaming into the homes of people across Vermont. Guest chefs, home cooks, farmers, hunters, foragers, and anglers beamed in from every corner of the state, demonstrating easy ways to work with local ingredients - wild, grown, and raised - to make simple and delicious meals. From deer heart rice curry and spatchcock chicken to wild mushrooms and bear fat popcorn, Vermont Wild Kitchen’s goal was to showcase how our communities are stronger and more resilient when we can connect with our landscape, our neighbors, and our food.
Over the years, Vermont Wild Kitchen has evolved to focus on in-person workshops and cooking demos and to spread the word directly throughout the community.
